Hiking
I've never visited the center itself but this is a good area to park for access to a great hike along the Chattahoochee. Our pup loves the water so this is one of her favorite hikes. Just be sure to go in at the shallow areas & where that water isn't moving too fast. The trail ends right around the parking area for Jones Bridge Unit, Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. You can park there too but there is a fee & it's a bit further from the house.

This is a great hike close to our place. It's only a half mile walk through the neighborhood. No sidewalks but most folks drive pretty slow. There is a trail around the lake, plus another trail that branches off from it. The entrance to the park can be tough to find from the street. However, you will see a dirt path to your right that leads between a house and a shed at the end of the large vacant lot (intersection of Edinburgh Dr. & Castle Rock Wy).

The cooler, lesser-known Stone Mtn. We love getting out here when we have a chance. Best to go early in the am on weekends or on weekdays to avoid the crows
