Sightseeing

This is a simple but unique location, only a couple minutes walk. It is also across the street from an Achritecture Museum. There are statue installations that are unqiue and iconic to the city such as the chair high in the sky that all locals become familiar with when driving into the downtown area (you might have seen in when arriving yourself).

This is the main Museum in Montreal for Fine Arts. Even if you don't go inside, you can walk up and down the street there for several blocks (Sherbrooke street) and you can see many sculptures and installments for free including a famously intriguing and creepy one. Can walk there in 5 minutes.

Best view in the city. Higher end eating (25-45$) and guaranteed to provide photo opportunities. The view is breahtaking and can see the city with a 360 degree view. There's also an observatory for 15$ or so, but I have never bothered with it, the view from the restaurant on top of the building is great. The food is very good too. I love the beef tartar, salmon tartar, duck salad, and roasted cauliflower. To get to it, you have to take two elevators (one after the other) from the main lobby of the office building. There are signs inside directing you and a front desk if you have any trouble finding the signs. If you arrive just before opening hours on a nice day you can eat outside on the terrace. There's also a bar on the other side that you can visit before / after the food that has a great view as well. Must see for sure.

An iconic central park of the city. Has the famous Sun Life building facing the eastern side of the park. This building was the largest building (in volume) in the country for decades. The park had squirrels and statues and a mix of sun and shade and plenty of benches but moreover is it a great hub with all kinds of city things to explore in every direction. Walking down Saint Cathrine's street further from home from there will show you every kind of store, bar, and club Montreal has to offer.

My favorite nature spot in the city. It's a bit of a drive but well worth it. It's a bird sanctuary so you'll see a lot of people with 10,000$ cameras looking out at the wildlife. You can see various rare birds while there. Take a walk all the way to the end of the path and take in the awesomeness of geological time as you gaze a the power of the rapids going by at some uncountable massive force.

Go on a sunny day just before sunset. Climb to the top and watch the sun going down in the distance. give you an astonishing romantic view of the entire part of the island north of the mountain and the suburbs and mountains far beyond. The architecture is also pretty with a massive pipe organ and decorated ceilings and such inside.

I literally eat here once a week minimum. Service, price, and quality are hard to beat and it gives you an excuse to visit the famous St Denis street. Just hop on the Metro to Berri Uqam, then find the St Denis street. (g-maps is a great help). Then you can walk up and down St Denis street to see many boutiques, bars, and other establishments.

Best Poutine in the city. The the large Chicken poutine. Save it for the last day because otherwise you risk wanting to go back every day.
