Taking a drive through Oak Creek Canyon is a great way to spend the afternoon. You can find some hikes and spots to swim in the canyon, but I recommend getting there early because trailheads and swimming holes can get quite busy. It's a popular place when the weather's warm--for good reason!

Walk a couple of blocks north and rent bikes from Absolute Bikes if you want to see some of the nearby trails without driving. The folks who work there will be happy to give you some tips on some mountain bike trails that are just blocks away (Thorpe Park) and they can also direct you to the Urban Trail system, which takes you throughout the city. Have kiddos with you? They even rent out bike trailers!

They may only allow a few shoppers in the store at a time, however, so you might need to poke your head in first and see if they're at capacity. Don't worry though--the wait is absolutely worth it and this is THE PLACE to get your Flagstaff gifts and treasures!
