If you fancy some German food, there’s no better place nearby than Das Dorf. Schnitzel, Labskaus, Grünkohl. With a special note. It’s a bit hidden in the Souterrain. The food is much more elegant than the looks of the place may suggest.

It’s about a 20 Minute nice walk to the Alster (the big lake in the middle of Hamburg) and the Alsterperle. In winter, you should have a Glühwein or a “Lumumba” (Hot Chocolate with Rum) here and just watch the lake. It’s calm and cosy and they have warm blankets.

It is a huge and stunning miniature replica of many places on this globe with a lot of attention to detail. Also there it’s recommendable to get a ticket in advance with a timeslot to avoid cues (can be 1-2 hours on weekends).
