Parks & Nature
Great place to walk around and immerse yourself in the diverse ecology of the area. The main road through the arboretum is also a great place to bike or run, and one of the outlets is a few blocks from our house down Glenway St.

The SW Commuter bike path runs from the beltline to downtown and the quickest access is a few blocks south on Glenway st between Glen Dr and Gregory street, head North east and it will take you to Camp Randall, continue on and you'll ride through the university toward the Capitol!

Southwest Commuter PathThe SW Commuter bike path runs from the beltline to downtown and the quickest access is a few blocks south on Glenway st between Glen Dr and Gregory street, head North east and it will take you to Camp Randall, continue on and you'll ride through the university toward the Capitol!
If you're traveling with kids, Westmorland park is the closest playground.
There are also Tennis courts, and in the winter two ice rinks (no skate rentals onsite though).

If you don't mind a drive, Paoli is a cute town outside of Madison and a nice change of pace if you want a quieter scene and good beer. It's often a biking destination if you're up for the trek.
