The Cremeria Funivia is the historic creamery of Bologna, built alongside what was the old departure of the cableway that connected the city of Bologna to Colle della Guardia (the second store is in Piazza Cavour, near the gallery of the same name). Here you can taste one of the best ice creams in the city, but also sorbets, granitas, moretti and popsicles of fresh fruit, all handcrafted according to tradition. Absolutely to try the special flavors "Alice" (mascarpone and melted chocolate) and "San Luca" (white chocolate with crisp puffed rice).

Sightseeing

The Torre degli Asinelli and the Garisenda are one of the biggest attractions of the Emilian capital, strategically placed at the entrance to the city from the ancient Via Emilia. Erected between 1109 and 1119, as a symbol of power and prestige of the aristocratic families whose name they bear, the towers are today the main destination for tourists visiting Bologna. The highest of the two is the Torre degli Asinelli (97.20 meters), consisting of an internal stairway of 498 steps: climbing up to the top you can admire the whole city from above, and some say that, in the days more clear, even the Alps and the Adriatic Sea can be seen.

Bologna boasts the longest portico in the world: the one that, from Porta Saragozza, leads to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca, from its origins a destination for pilgrimages to venerate the icon of the Virgin with the Child called "San Luca". The very long portico was built to protect pilgrims from the rain. It is almost four kilometers long and has 666 arches and 15 chapels. According to some, the number 666 would not be random: the number "of the Devil", in fact, would symbolize the serpent, or the devil, both for the shape and because, ending at the foot of the sanctuary, it recalls the traditional iconography of the defeated and crushed Devil. from the Madonna.
