Another favorite. Really great sandwiches and soups!! My favorite thing on the menu though is the Apple Walnut Salad! Obama had to have some of their carrot cake when he came through here...

Great hike from Price Park. It meanders along the river with great boulders for climbing- Park Rangers call it the Beaver trail, they leave evidence of their busy chewing, all along the trail.

On the Blue Ridge Pkway. 30 Minutes- Easy level hike- goes all the way around Price Lake, through the campground- you can rent canoes or paddle boats at the campground. Beautiful views of the water.

This is not far from Linville Falls. It entails a short hike out to amazing views of the Linville Gorge. About 45-50 minutes from us. You just go past Linville falls a couple miles on a BUMPY road!

This is a grand old home that was built by Moses Cone- the "denim King" for his bride. You can't actually tour the house but there are wonderful hikes on old carriage trails and out to the fire tower

This is only 30 mins away. It is a HEAVENLY drive- views of mtns around the lake. Beach and marina with boat rentals. Pontoon boats are a blast! The old town of Butler is at the bottom of the lake!!

This is expensive but worth it! Swinging bridge. Wonderful animal habitat. Visitor center has awesome movies of the animals- and a kid friendly museum. Great gift shop! My son Jon worked here at 12
