Food scene

Wonderful little neighborhood coffee house with great drinks, including beer and wine to take out! They also have a simple but very nice breakfast and lunch menu (sandwiches, etc). There is outdoor seating in front and on the back deck, looking over a small playground and Bernie's Beach, a little beach on the bay.

This place has a huge patio area and is a best kept secret of Madison! Check out their website for up to date information on beer and food offerings.

Neighborhoods

You will find our neighborhood incredibly friendly - you'll see people jogging by across the street on a 3 mile loop around the bay (Monona Bay), people out walking their dogs, families just enjoying the quiet streets. Our side street (Lawrence) leads down to Goodman Park and pool in one direction, and to views out over the bay and lake (Monona) and Capitol building in the other. There's a bus line about 3 blocks away. The bike path is easily accessible either by crossing John Nolen drive (to bike along Lake Monona and up to the Capitol, Monona Terrace, etc) or by crossing Olin drive.
