Sokol tower is a magnificent fortress in the village Dunave about 15 minutes away from the apartment. If you don't like hights or are travelling with small children this sight may not be for you. Free parking is just next to the fortress and usually there are no crowds there. There are a lot of stairs around the fortress. In the spring of 2013, the Sokol Tower once again opened its doors after 350 years. Today, visitors can discover its impressive archaeological collection, displayed in the restored living quarters of the Kastelan. The ticket prices are around 30 to 70kn per person.

Pendža is a rocky beach under the cliffs located here in Radovčići and it takes about 5 minutes to drive to it. It's less crowded then Pasjača and easier to get to. To get to it you have to drive through 'Kojan koral' horse ranch.- Locate it on google maps. When you pass the ranch just go straight .At the end of the road is a parking lot. From there you will have to take a 5 minute walk down a lot of stairs. There is no bars,restaurants, shops or signal at the beach. This is a beach for people looking for peace and quiet and the opportunity to enjoy the nature around them.I recommend bringing some food or snacks and water! Pets are not allowed at the beach.

Pasjača beach is one of the best-kept secrets in relation to the beaches of the region. It's not easy to find because there is no sign on the main road. It's not easely accesible either so if you have any physical disabilities it may not be the best choice for you. When going from the apartment you have to go straight to the village Popovići,pass the soccer playground and speed bumps .Right there you should see a wooden sign 'Agroturizam vinarija Klaić'-when you pass the sign turn left. You should see a info bord on a house wall. Go straight and follow the same sign as before- next turn is also left. After a while you should see a sign for Pasjača from there you just go straight.
The road to it is rough, narrow and ends at the off road parking lot. From there you'll have to take a 5-10 minute walk around the edge of a cliff down to the beach which makes for a very step climb back up. Part of that path makes steps and part of it is a dirt path. The beach itself is rocky and you'll be able to find shade just around 17h. There is no bars,restaurants, shops or signal at the beach. This is a beach for people looking for peace and quiet and the opportunity to enjoy the nature around them. It is surrounded with high cliffs and the water is cristal clear and blue/turquoise, very suitable for snorkeling. I recommend bringing some food or snacks and water! Pets are not allowed at the beach.

I definately recomment you visit Cavtat .Take a walk ,enjoythe view with some ice cream, go to the beach ,a restaurant or a coffee bar. You can even visit House Bukovac home of a famous Croatian painter Vlaho Bukovac. You can also enjoy some nightlife in bars such as 'Beach bar Cool' or life performances hapening on the small town square. It's also very famous for the waterpolo games in the summer out in the open.

If you find youself in Konavle on a Sunday and you crave some cultural uplifting or you just like learning about different traditions I strongly recommend you go watch tradional dance and song performances in the village Čilipi (10 min drive). They are performed in front of st.Nikola church only on Sundays at 11 am in traditional Konavle costumes. There you can also find the only Konavle museum where you can learn more about the rich past of this area.

They are performed in front of st.Nikola church only on Sundays at 11 am in traditional Konavle costumes. There you can also find the only Konavle museum where you can learn more about the rich past of this area.

Parking / transportation tips
Parking in Dubrovnik can be really expensive and stressful. Especially if you want to spend a day in the Old town. I find it best if you don't want to spend a fortune on parking leave your car at the parking lot of Dubrovnik general hospital- It's quite large and you will surely find a spot. From there you can take the bus to the Old town or where ever you want to go.
