If you haven’t seen this when you entered the city than you need to go back. The castle is more than 2000 years old. Due to its strategic location, the hill has been settled since antiquity. It was an Illyrian stronghold during the rule of the Labeates and Ardiaei, whose capital was Scodra. During the Third Illyrian War the Illyrian king Gentius concentrated his forces in Scodra until it was attacked and conquered by the Roman army led by L. Anicius Gallus.
But there is so much more to the history, and that is why you need to go there. Besides it, there is a pretty "cool" legend behind the name. If you are not a history nerd, at least go check out the views. You will not get disappointed! I bet you a full reimbursement of your stay :)

I am not insisting on you going here, but I believe it is a pretty place. The lake opens up here and you can understand why Shkodra lake is the largest lake in the Balkans.
This is where I spent my summers swimming in the lake while I got burnt from the sun. If you want to take a quick swim, it is the right place. And you can eat fresh lake fish for a very reasonable price.
My favorite part: Sunsets are mesmerizing during summer.

Just by the name, you can understand it is a national treasure. It has the largest archive of old Albanian photographs, and it is named after the first photographer who resided in Shkodra. The ground floor is a temporary exhibition so it never gets annoying for me to visit it. Make sure not to miss it!
