Sightseeing
Pickup a numbered brochure at the front sign. It has descriptions that match the signs along the drive, they tell you what you are looking at. The cost is $10 per car. Great place to leisurely drive through, with several parking areas you can get out and walk on trails. There is a restroom about midway through. Fabulous for birding and wildlife watching! Best time to see wildlife is just after sunrise and before sunset. I've seen bobcats, wild hogs, snakes, and numerous birds of all types. You can see Rosetta Spoonbills and bald eagles! Gates open at sunrise and close at sunset. No matter what time of the year or weather conditions, you can always see wildlife.

Nice hike up the shell mound, with a great view of the Lagoon to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the East! The gradually rising boardwalk takes you through the tree tops.

Plus there's a children's fairy and gnome gardens, an outdoor chapel, concrete dinosaurs, water features and tons of flowers and plants. The even have a place to purchase plants near the rest rooms, on the honor system.

Great local artist gallery, inside a very cool architectural building, with lots of nock and crannies. A small hidden garden. Great mural on the west side of the building!

Great place to park and eat lunch. Quiet get away park in New Smyrna, a hidden gem. Beautiful woods. It does have mosquitos during warm months. Bug repellent highly recommended during those times.
