This place is very well hidden, and you will likely only find the locals eating there. It's order, “at the counter” Mexican food, which is always the best food. There is outside seating if the days are nice. Don't forget to get your pinto beans free with every order. My wife LOVES the California tacos!

Sightseeing

1.8 mile, fairly easy hike. About 1/2 mile up hill to McLeod Lake then just under a mile around the lake before heading back down the hill. Trailhead can be accesses from the Horseshoe Lake parking lot. Just over a science 10 min drive up Old Mammoth Road to Lake Mary Road.When exiting the condo turn “right” on Old Mammoth (away from town) this will take you winding through the mountains and dead end into Lake Mary Road where you will turn left and follow it till it ends at Horseshoe Lake.

Just over a science 10 min drive up Old Mammoth Road to Lake Mary Road.When exiting the condo turn “right” on Old Mammoth (away from town) this will take you winding through the mountains and dead end into Lake Mary Road where you will turn left and follow it till it ends at Horseshoe Lake.

I recommend this hike in the evenings as it can be directly in the sun during morning and early afternoon hikes. To access the trail head turn right as you exit the Snowcreek complex taking Old Mammoth Road towards Lake Mary. The trail head is only a couple of miles up the road on the left. Use Mammoth Rock, the large spire sticking out of the side of the mountain, as your guide as to where to pick up the trail head.

I recommend this hike in the evenings as it can be directly in the sun during morning and early afternoon hikes. To access the trail head turn right as you exit the Snowcreek complex taking Old Mammoth Road towards Lake Mary. The trail head is only a couple of miles up the road on the left. Use Mammoth Rock, the large spire sticking out of the side of the mountain, as your guide as to where to pick up the trail head.

Golden Creek Meadow Reserve

The Golden Creek Meadow Reserve walk is located just steps to the north of 637 Golden Creek. Walk west towards the spa and turn right walking between the duplexes, yes it’s okay to walk there.👍🏼 There you will cross a small field and then three small bridges where you will hook up with the reserve trail. You can follow the trail East to Minaret Rd. This is a dog friendly walk, so don’t leave your furry friend locked up in the condo. 🤙🏼 The walk is roughly a mile round trip.
