You can not leave Oslo without having a walk up the river Akerselva! I recommend starting from the bottom of Trondheimsveien and walking up to Nydalen (or even further) You can catch the Tbane (underground) from Nydalen or the buss. Along the way there is several nice cafees and cosy areas to sit down and take in the atmosphere. 15-20 min up the river you can have a waffle beside the watermill Mølla at Hønselouisa:)

Torggata is the best option if you want to walk from Grunerløkka in to the city center. Torgata has alot of cafes, bars, resturants and some shopping. At Oslo Street food you have a broad variety of food from varoious foodstalls.

Going down to the Opera House and Sørenga, you should really consider having a swin in the sea at this fun sauna park just at the back of the Opera! Its really refreshing and fun :) You can dive from the roof of the saunas, and its 3-4 different saunas to choose from.

Going down to the Opera House and Sørenga, you should really consider having a swin in the sea at this fun sauna park just at the back of the Opera! Its really refreshing and fun :) You can dive from the roof of the saunas, and its 3-4 different saunas to choose from.

(the tram/bus/tbane tickets are also valid for the ferrys) This island is very quiet, very green, has several beaches and a cosy cafe. I prefer swiming at the smaller beach at the backside of the island. You can also choose to visit some of the other islands, Gressholmen has a nice resturant.

If you want to see something outside the city on a nice summerday, I recommend taking the bus 85 from Oslo Sentralstation to idyllic Malmøya. You can find small beautiful beaches, narrow roads, tiny boathouses and beautifiul gardens. You feel surprised to find this kind of place 15 min outside Oslo City!
Hiking
Great place to start your hike in the Forest! Take the t-bane Nr 1 to Frognerseteren, and from there several trails and hikes, short or long. Or if you feel lazy, just have a drink and enjoy the view!

This place serves the best pizza in Oslo! Just 5 minutes from my place you find this resturant in a very peaceful square with no traffic, I love the outdoor tables. Can be hard to get a table, good ide to book in advance, especially weekends.
