Contrary to what you may think of cocktail bar culture, this is located in one of the most hip, vibrant, Bohemian, fun areas of Melbourne, with door to door bars and cafes with awesome food, and the Black Pearl is a local AND international institution, with young, attractive and ever-so-knowledgeable and warm welcoming bar staff whom adore working there and honing their craft.. and it shows..! Rather pricey but you absolutely understand the care and attention to detail that earns the pricetags. ;) Great atmosphere, comfy, classy but non-pretentious, even if you go alone you are sure to make new friends at the bar :)

It's huge.. although not a fan of zoos generally, they do a lot to try and educate people on the animals and keep them comfortable and stimulated with activity, and it's a beautiful day out.. lots of park areas to take a break too and just lie in the grass or have a snack.

lots of people go for runs around this park and let their dogs socialise and lots of neighbours come together for walks etc here.. lovely to sit around under the trees or near the fountain with a picnic and read a book :)

Magical place.. lots of people go for runs around this park, walk their dogs, bird-spot, have picnics etc.. lovely to sit around under the trees or near the lake areas with a picnic and read a book :) The trees and flowers are spectacularly beautiful with some sun.. just take mosquito repellent and sunscreen and make a day of it! In the summer they also have the Shakespearean theatre company putting on 'A Mid-Summer Night's Dream, and there's also Moonlight Cinema (again, just take mosquito repellent..)
