Beadnell beach is dog friendly this is a lovely 1 hour circular walk along the beach to the bridge then walk back along the top grassed area and through the caravan park. The Salt Water cafe in Beadnell is very nice and dog friendly. For a longer walk and beautiful views carry on over the bridge and you could walk to Low Newton. This is a tiny village and can become very overcrowded at high season and only has 1 pub which sells food, but a great walk just take a picnic! Or walk further on to Embleton.

Hulne Park in Alnwick- because of the wildlife at certain times of the year you have to stay on the road and not to go into the woodland tracks. Even doing this we have spotted squirrels and deer have ran over the road in front of us and on a couple of occasions there have been herds of deer in the fields further in the park. When the restrictions aren’t in place take your first right down the track, there are lovely walks on pathways through the woods. NO DOGS ALLOWED!!

One of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britain and the home of the famous Keep Calm and Carry On poster. Barter Books has become one of the largest tourist attractions in the North East of England and housed in a Victorian railway station, with an excellent cafe ad ice cream parlour next door. But please don’t leave your visit for a rainy day as it is most likely to be extremely busy on those kind of days!

Ingram Valley or Breamish valley is a great place to visit in the quieter season when there can sometimes be only a handful of Walker there. In the summer months it can be busy with families having picnics. Walk along the road in the valley or fir the more adventurous there are plenty walks in the hills. Drive to the end of the road, park up and walk to Linhope Spoute a beautiful water fall. The valley is dog friendly but they are best kept on leads as there are sheep grazing.
