Punting can be sight seeing along the Backs or a day out and a picnic on Grantchester meadows. Scudamores are the big name, but there are several hire companies. Rent from Magdalene Bridge or the Mill Pond for a trip along the backs. To go towards Grantchester, rent from the Mill Pong and go “up the rollers” to get to the upper river. It’s a long way to Grantchester and back, it’s a day out and normally you’d share the punting.

Rent from Magdalene Bridge or the Mill Pond for a trip along the backs. To go towards Grantchester, rent from the Mill Pong and go “up the rollers” to get to the upper river. It’s a long way to Grantchester and back, it’s a day out and normally you’d share the punting.
