Transportation
Hopping on the ferry and sitting up top (in the summer) is a great cheap way to see Halifax from the water. When in Dartmouth you can check out places like 2 If By Sea, the Alderney Landing Farmers market, or the Irish bar Celtic Corner that are all a 10 minute walk or less from the ferry terminal.

Sightseeing
Take the 15 minute walk from my building and just keep walking down the hill until you reach water. There are many things to do and see and eat and drink and buy here. No visit to Halifax is complete without visiting here. Even in the fall and winter when the shops are closed for the season, it makes for a nice stroll a long the water.
