Sightseeing
The Beauleau National Motor Museum is a great day out with lots on offer for the whole family from the large motor museum (including a Top Gear exhibition) to the charming Beaulieu Place House, the 13th Century Beaulieu Abbey and the superb gardens. There is even a monorail to enjoy an elevated view of the grounds plus a cafe.
The entrance to the museum is a few minutes drive away away the cottage or a 10 minute walk.

Beaches
From the cafe on the beach enjoy superb views of the Isle Of Wight across the Solent water and take time to observe the boat traffic sailing past.
Lepe beach was also used in the D-Day Landings on 6 June 1944 when 6,000 troops with heavy equipment embarked on their mission. There is plenty to see such as structures for the construction and launching of large concrete caissons, which formed part of the Mulberry harbours used during the Allied invasion of Normandy. This was one of many sites in the New Forest area used in the D-Day preparations.
