The service is impeccable, the craft cocktails are deadly good and the food is amazing! We love their oyster selection too. Don’t miss their deviled egg appetizer - it’s not your grandma’s deviled egg! They take reservations, but there is some unreserved seating in the bar if you arrive early enough or want to chance it later in the evening.

This is a Hinterland restaurant so of course their beer is fantastic! In addition, they have a roasted brussel sprout appetizer that will have you at hello! Their service is awesome and the ambiance is stellar. Great fine dining!

Grasse’s serves a great breakfast with super service. Once a gas station, then a dairy and now a restaurant honoring the family’s long history in Door County, it’s not to be missed. Lines can get long so plan your breakfast hunger accordingly.

AC Tap May look like your run-of-the-mill tavern, but they have an extensive food menu. I love the Thai wrap. Their bloodies are awfully good too. If you are looking for meatless meals, their black bean burger is very good.

Get yourself a beer flight, a giant Bavarian pretzel with cheese and select one of your favorite board games to play with old friends or new ones you just met at their big communal tables. There is an outdoor beer garden out back and cornhole out front.
Fine dining with a view! Make your reservations early to make sure you get a fab sunset viewing table. The portions are large so consider sharing. The craft cocktails are top notch too.

Open year-round, you can get your preserves and pickle fix satisfied as well as the fun of telling people the name of the place where you got their Door County gift. This isn’t just hype though, my mom is given a shopping list by her neighbors in Florida of what to bring back for them.

New to Fish Creek, Taco Cerveza is part of the Wickman House / Trixie’s family. We stopped there for tacos and ended up getting the nachos which were amazing. Beer cheese, ramp kimchi and don’t forego the pork belly add-on - holy cow! Who knew? The seating is outdoor only, communal and seemingly always full. Last weekend people were lined up waiting for them to open for lunch!

4149 WI-42New to Fish Creek, Taco Cerveza is part of the Wickman House / Trixie’s family. We stopped there for tacos and ended up getting the nachos which were amazing. Beer cheese, ramp kimchi and don’t forego the pork belly add-on - holy cow! Who knew? The seating is outdoor only, communal and seemingly always full. Last weekend people were lined up waiting for them to open for lunch!
If you are into doing your own cooking or want to wow your friends and family with the most amazing meal ever, stop here and get your proteins. They have other seasonal products, but protein is their jam. James and I love their roasting chicken for an easy, mouth-watering, feed-lots-of-people dinner. If you are into splurging, their cowboy steaks are heaven (think we spent $35 plus). Their meat is all deep frozen, so buy on your way into Sister Bay and tuck it into the fridge until you’re ready. Most fine dining in Door County get their protein from Door Karma or Waseda Farms.

They have a beach for you and your dog - what more is there to say? Make sure you have water mocs, the stoney shallows are difficult to walk in barefoot. Newport also hosts dark sky events where you have zero light pollution to enjoy the stars like you have never seen them before.

Did you know Door County has the equivalent of San Francisco’s Lombard Street? Once you leave Bea’s Ho-made, keep traveling north on 42 and you will hit what we call; The Wiggly Road. It makes for some spectacular photo ops in fall - just be prepared for lots people trying to get the best selfies.
