A very poignant place that is completely worth visiting. Restaurants and a little church in the more modern Oradour Sur Glane next to the Martyr Village, museum and remembrance centre. Would not recommend for small chikdren, but older kids could link to their European history learning, and knowledge of the 2nd World War.

Gorgeous architecture, caves, Abbey, canoeing, Very good market on Friday morning but you need to be there early its finished at 12 noon. Sit and eat along the river, people watch, browse the shops, paddle in the river, picnics in the park. We often park at Brantome canoe book for later in the afternoon. Explore the market eat at one of the local bistros or buy scrumptious picnic food from the market... Then get prepared for our afternoon canoe nimble around the circular 1 hour river route around the town.
