Our kids call it the "Cow-Ice" because its in a farm and you can watch the cows and calves through class while eating :-) Its few minutes from our house if you are driving from Laugarvatn in the direction of Geysi and Gullfoss on the left side of the road.

Its the biggest town near our house. Perfect to go shopping for groceries, wine etc. The best value for food is Bonus and Krónan chain stores. You can find restaurants, swimming pools etc. as well.

Gönguleið um FimmvörðuhálsIt’s a very nice hike or walking to a Geothermal Hot Springs in Hveragerdi Town, not far from our house. If you take your swimming suit with you, you can soak in the hot springs at the end after the hike. I guess it’s a few hours walking, but its worth it. You start by driving through the town and up the valley. If you go, follow the hot river where you can bath, for few more minutes and check out the ravine, its magnificent. Please ask for Reykjadalur if you get lost.

A very nice Foodhall in Hveragerði. Perfect after a sightseeing or a hiking trip to Reykjadalur Geothermal Hot Spring river.

There is a really nice Food Hall in Selfoss. Its straight ahead when drive across the big bridge to get to town. You wont miss it :-)
