Its dome has a span of 58 by 82 feet and is reputed to be the largest, freestanding, elliptical dome in North America. Take note of the ceiling tiles that are his trademark and can also be found in the pool room of the Biltmore Estate.

Many people come to Asheville to visit Biltmore Estate. If you plan on visiting this historic landmark, you will want to book before you visit. Ask me about a promo code for booking. Plan on spending the better part of a day there to get the most out of your visit and not feel rushed. Sometimes during the slower months, they offer the option to spend a 2nd day at the grounds You may want to see if that is a current option to give yourself more flexibility. Here are our top hiking spots!
Great waterfall hike. The lower falls is an easy hike, but you can continue on to the upper falls for one of our favorite waterfall views. If going to the upper falls, it might be a good idea to tag along with other hikers who have been before. There is one turn that is easy to miss and not well-marked. I would not recommend this hike on a rainy day. The upper falls has a couple of strenuous spots where you will be using ropes to get up rocky areas. Wear durable hiking shoes.

We recommend this pretty easy hike on a hot day. You will drive up to the mountain to cooler elevation and may even need a jacket on a warm day up there. There is a parking lot and picnic area with a trail off to the side to begin your hike. Great place to bring a picnic as well.

This is a favorite mountaintop hike. Mount Pisgah is the mountain you can see with the cell phone tower if you look west. Once you get to the top, you can have long-range mountain views on clear days. I recommend going early as there can be bugs at the top.
