Favorite Restaurants, Cafés, Outdoor places

My favorite place to eat Middle East-Meditarrenan food in Budapest! ‘From Atlas to Ararat, from the Bosphorus to Gibraltar’ – so goes the motto of Dobrumba, on the corner of Dob utca and Rumbach Sebestyén utca. Its atmosphere evokes the cool bistros of New York, while its recipes were inspired by the owner’s travels in the Middle East, Mediterranean and Caucasus. They offer mezzes, dips, and main dishes, incorporating flavours from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Israel, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia and Turkey. Beside this international food selection, Dobrumba also pleases visitors with tasty coffee concoctions, a well-curated wine list and varied drink specialities.

This 200 years old family owned confectionery is in the Buda Castle. Have a big walk on Tóth Árpád sétány and than taste some of the wonderful traditional Hungarian desserts here! In the summer time I have to take my daughter Lulu (3) to have ice cream here every day:-)

Must do things in Budapest

This is one of my personal favorite of the spas. It is just a 15 minutes walk from the appartment and you can have a marvelous view on the Danube river. It was renovated a few years ago, so everything is nice and the original condition was well preserved.

This is the number one spa in Budapest! It is in Liget Budapest Park, where there is the ZOO also that is worth a visit too. (the Zoo can be super busy in the weekend, but during the week it is very nice)

This a super romantic program if you stay longer in Budapest. From the LIBEGŐ- chairlift you have a nice view over the city from the woods. Take the red metro from Deák Square till the final destination Déli Pályaudvar, and there take bus number 21 till the final destination Normafa. It takes about 30 minutes to get there.

Once You are in Budapest You have to go to the Citadell, the top of the Gellért 'Mountain' (it is rather a hill, but we call it mountain. On the top there is our Statue of the Liberty , a socialist monument overlooking the city. On the way down, visit Czakó Kert, a bistro with a nice garden and super desserts and daily menu.

Have a drink in this roof top bar. Best around the sunset. It is very busy, so if you want to be sure, book a table! http://www.360bar.hu/?lang=en
