We are partial to locally owned restaurants that serve fresh ingredients.
Phat Bites looks like a "hole in the wall" place, but the food is always awesome! They also have live music on the weekends. In warm weather you may sit outside. Prices are great and you receive very large portions. The owner is super-nice and if she is there she may give you a sample plate if you ask.

Amy's is a sweet little spot that is owned by a native Ethiopian family. If you go like Ethiopian food, it is a treat! The owners are lovely and also package their own bags of coffee beans. On Friday nights there is a buffet where you may try various dishes.

This cafe is a delicious spot to experience vegetarian and vegan food. There are also gluten-free options. There are several unique dishes...protein bowls with beans, smoky kale, and quinoa with garlic aoli is one of my absolute favorites! They also have delicious gluten-free desserts and homemade kombucha.
The dining area is small, so arrive early at usual meal times. There is a nice outdoor seating area when the weather is nice. They have an app if you would like to order to go!

There are several unique dishes...protein bowls with beans, smoky kale, and quinoa with garlic aoli is one of my absolute favorites! They also have delicious gluten-free desserts and homemade kombucha.

Walk around the Gulch after your meal to experience some of Nashville's downtown area.

This restaurant is a favorite of locals and tourists, so you need to arrive waaaay before meal times or order online to avoid lines that literally wrap around the building waiting for the next hot bird:-)

This is one of our favorite Friday night quick meals because it's so close. You could walk there if you wanted to!
