Best Viennese food in town, usually quite busy between 7 and 9 PM, amazing wines, a bit expensive but entirely worth it, portions are pretty big, so you might consider sharing 2 or 3 courses amongst two. A very good place to have great food and greater conversations.

Never too busy, relaxed Café with delicious food and cakes, during the summer they have seeting in the court behind the buidlung under wonderfully shade-sparing trees and beyond the busy traffic and pedestrians.

Incredible cocktails, high prices but justifiable, good music and interior, usually not too busy and thus perfect for lenghty conversations with sleepless friends. Sometimes they have live Jazz, then they´re pretty packed.

Sightseeing
Enter through the main gate, turn left to pass the little opening in the fence and walk forwards to the elevator to the north tower of St. Steven´s. For € 5,50 escape the city in the middle of the city for a view over Vienna´s roofs, a meeting with Her Royal Higness the largest bell of Austria, a light breeze through your hair and a deep breath to see the city slow down beneath your feet. All without taking a single staircase.

From my place, walk towards the city, cross Kennedy bridge (the bridge with the roundabout on top of it) and walk straight on to the side entrance to the castle gardens on your left hand side behinde the Lindt shop and the post office. Take a look around, enjoy the royal feeling, when you arrive between the castle and the fountain at the foot of the hill, take the forest path to the fountain´s left side. Wonderous stone steps, overleaved with beautiful greenery will open up to the view over the city at the top of the hill. About a 15 minute walk up, especially wonderful early in the morning when only few people are up and about. Entrance to the gardens is free of charge.
