Meander through the aisles and you will find surprising and intelligent offerings for the neighborhood. Prices are good too. Family owned.
The closest grocery store and the lowest prices in town. That attracts a lot of people during the peak hours. Best to shop during the morning or the evening.

Fun neighborhood Speakeasy that opens at 10/10:30pm. You go to the sign that says "not an exit" and security checks your id. To enter the secret bar you are led down to a very cool brick basement with awesome brick stairs. The bar is a lounge on one side with comfy chairs and a full bar that is very dimly lit. The other side is a dance floor and they play a mix of rap, r&b, hip-hop, new jack swing, and some alternate versions of classic disco and 80s hits. A cocktail menu of 6 drinks that are all are good and strong. My Dark & Stormy of rum, ginger beer, and lime is a favorite. You can't go wong at Miss Wong's. Also a great place for women to not be harassed and have a good time.

A nice a Target as any and I am a big fan of the chain- mostly because it's huge and seems to have more selection than most Targets. 5-minute walk from the Pavonia/Newport PATH station and light rail station, and close to the Hoboken train station. Clean and usually no lines, even on a Saturday afternoon.

The New Jersey Room is a room full of historic books and documents about NJ and Jersey City. On top of it all, your library card gives you access to online e-book / audiobook / movie libraries and apps. That includes Overdrive and Hoopla.
