Day Trips from Pizzo
If you want to discover Calabria, the best base to start is Pizzo! Rent a car at the airport and have fun exploring the calabrian coast and its countless beautiful beaches or the hilly green hinterland with its medieval villages and picturesque churches, olive trees and curvy roads. Then come back to Pizzo in the afternoon too relax, enjoy an ice cream or aperitivo on your private balcony while watching the sun set.
The beauty and the beast ... the ugly duckling and the swan ... Tropea and Pizzo ... Tropea is the big rival although not to compare. Tropea is more city, has more noble palazzi, more city beach, more tourists but less soul. It is nice to visit, but good to be home in Pizzo.
It can be done in 1/2 day, but take your bathing suits, on the way to Tropea are nice beaches, or take a swim at Tropea's city beach or continue to Capo Vaticano.
Can be reached by local train.

The beauty and the beast ... the ugly duckling and the swan ... Tropea and Pizzo ... Tropea is the big rival although not to compare. Tropea is more city, has more noble palazzi, more city beach, more tourists but less soul. It is nice to visit, but good to be home in Pizzo.
