You can access the ocean by driving a few more miles down Milolii Rd and into the village. Hookena is a black sand beach 13 miles north and is where the locals go. 2 step/City of Refuge for some of the best snokling on the island and a wonderful cultural sight as well. The painted church is on the way to 2 step on Painted Church Rd and well worth the short diversion. On Saturdays, there is a swap meet in Ocean View. It's like an international food court with Plhilpino food, brick oven fired sour dough and Portugese breads, and a lady who sells the best tamales out of a little red cooler usually on the South side of the meet that are sooo good. There is a Sunday market in Captain Cook that has many local buys and live music. Greenwell Farms does one of the best coffee plantation tours in the Kona coffee belt area. For strong hikers, you can hike down to Captain Cooks monument from a trail that starts from where hwy11 and Napo'opo'o rd meet. It is one of the few underwater federal government wildlife refuges in the country.
