Where to go at night ?
NIGHTLIFE CHAWENG This is by far the densest place in terms of nightlife. A single artery, parallel to the beach of several kilometers, concentrates almost all of this Nightlife in more than a few adjacent streets. There will be Clubs like the "Green Mango" very well known here, French, Italian, Scandinavian bars, Lounges Bars, the famous "Solo", Australian or English pubs, including "Legends Bar", "Duke Pub", "The Islander Pub", "Tropical Murphy's Irish Pub & Restaurant", Western institutions "Hard Rock Cafe" or Brazilian "Zico's", terraces of springs animated by orchestras. Let's add all the mix evenings offered by the beaches including, "Ark Bar", "Cha Cha Moon", "Elephant Beach", "KC Beach Club" and the nearby arena where almost every night fights boxing Thai, and we understand very quickly that one evening will not be enough ... especially as, on the other side of the lake "Soi Reggae", the Koh Samui Nightlife continues The "Reggae Pub" is another institution around which is grafted piles of Gogo bars. At the "Reggae Pub", the music is of good quality, Reggae / Afro / R'nB / Hip Hop and the pleasant atmosphere. Go there preferably late in the evening.

NIGHTLIFE BOPHUT Located north of Koh Samui, Bop hut is a more family-friendly village, lounge atmosphere and lends itself more to romantic evenings one-on-one. Here, in this former fishing village, "Fisherman's Village", the main attraction is the night market Friday night, the famous "Walking Street", very popular with tourists. Here, no girls' bars, but a "cosy" neighbourhood, surrounded by superb restaurants, "Art of Life", "Karma Sutra", "The Virage", "Billabong Surf Club" Pubs, "The Emerald Irish Pub" and shops with atypical decorations, along the alley that runs along the seaside. WAT KHAO CHEDI Until a few months ago, this monument in ruins had been forgotten for many years. Now that the path to Chedi has been restored, it is easier to access. About 300 meters west of Laem Sor Chedi, there is a hill. At the base of it, a small hut can be seen. Then, 100 meters to the right of this house, the path is visible; it leads to a staircase that must be mounted for about ten minutes. At the top, the quiet and relaxing ruins of Wat Khao Chedi greet the intrepid explorer. In the center, sits the Reclining Buddha, a monument of 10 meters in size. WAT PRAPUTTATEPUNGKORN This last place is to see absolutely and to add in your list. The path to this temple is often difficult to access and continues to climb tirelessly. Better to bring a 4x4 or be a fan of hiking, motorbike this can quickly become problematic. However, once there, we can only be amazed by the panorama that offers us. This is certainly the only place on the island where you can admire Koh Samui as a whole. Near the temple, a large statue representing standing Buddha overlooks the wooded and flowery area, surrounded by sculptures that include all the Chinese zodiac signs. A few meters away, a huge reclining Buddha lends its imposing stature to the surrounding nature.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY It is again under the impulse of the Save Elephant Foundation (the foundation of Lek Chailert, creator of the Elephant Nature Park of Chiang Mai) that this project was born. More than a year ago, they invited an owner of a Koh Samui elephant camp to discover Elephant Nature Park and its way of working. Determined to change his practices, he has returned several times to his entire family and after a year of preparation and work in collaboration with the foundation, the first elephant sanctuary in Koh Samui called Samui Elephant Sanctuary (SES) was able to open its doors this week. The Samui Elephant Sanctuary is owned by Wittaya Salangam and her family, who for decades used her elephants for trekking on Koh Samui. They had the merit and courage to radically change their way of doing things and finally give their elephants a life without work. The sanctuary today has 3 elephants: Kham San, Sri Nin, and Cartoon.
