Take a small trip to the start of the Rockie mountains. Golden is a small town that offers a ton of activities . If your stay falls in the middle of summer, rent a tube and float down the river. There is a ton of hiking and a place called look out mountain that allows an Arial view of Denver and its surrounding cities.
