North Yorkshire Water Park is a fantastic scenic location for water sports with paddle boarding, kayaking and wake boarding on a large lake complex just 15 minutes drive from the lodge. Fishing permits are also available.
During the warmer months the park also offers a total wipeout inflatable assault course which is highly recommended and great fun.
You can bring your own equipment (launch fees are applicable) or you can hire all equipment on site.

Dalby forest has some of the best mountain biking routes in Europe. Located in the heart of the vast forest there are routes for all abilities. Bikes are available to hire locally. The forest has Miles of walking routes including the beautiful walk up to the Bridalstones. A large visitor centre and a couple of exceptional children’s adventure play parks. Check the website for ranger led activities and star gazing talks.

One of our absolute favourites (if you can handle the steep walk back up!)
Ravenscar is a beautiful location to visit anyway with stunning views across Robin Hoods Bay but with the added advantage of having a seal colony. The walk down to the seal colony is very steep but well worth it as you can see sometimes over a hundred seals basking on the rocks. Please be respectful and keep a safe distance. Mother’s with calf’s will be especially distressed if they feel threatened.
