The co-cathedral, built between 1573 and 1577, is undoubtedly “THE” monument to visit in Valletta. Behind this sober facade, with its austere appearance, hide some treasures and a profusion of baroque ornaments of incredible richness. The highlight of your visit is 2 paintings by Caravaggio, including his most monumental work, considered his masterpiece, The “Beheading of Saint John the Baptist”.

- The Malta Experience - Introduction à l’histoire de Malte (diaporama de 45 minutes)
- Visite de l’Infirmerie sacrée située juste à côté (billet commun avec film)
- Visite co-cathédrale (somptueux art baroque et deux chefs d’œuvre du Caravage)
- Flâner dans les petites ruelles et boire un café au Café Cordina
- Ne pas manquer les Jardins Upper et lower Baracca (vue magnifique sur le port et les 3 Cités)
- Puis, selon météo, déplacement en navette pour Sliema et croisière en bateau (Harbour cruise) d’une durée de 1h30-2h.

In the footsteps of the knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem
In the heart of the Three Cities, Birgu became the first fortified port of the island in the 16th century and symbolizes the heroic resistance of the Maltese knights in the face of the Ottoman attack (Great Siege of 1565). It is best discovered on foot, along the intertwined streets and along its magnificent ramparts.
To see: Palace of the Inquisitor and Museum of the Second World War.
Opportunity to have a drink on the central square, nicely lively
15 minutes walk from our studio. Visit possible by electric cart from the Birgu marina.

Birgu

Village de pêcheurs avec une belle promenade et un marché le long des quais. Pour ceux qui aiment la foule allez-y le dimanche matin !
Si vous accédez en bus, ceux-ci empruntent une rue parallèle car le bord de mer devient impraticable. Se renseigner sur place. Le soir, possibilité de dîner dans un des nombreux restaurants avec vue sur des dizaines de bateaux traditionnels.
Notre préféré est le "Roots Restaurant" situé le long de la Marina.

Depuis là, possibilité de rejoindre à pied (bonnes chaussures) le charmant port de pêcheurs de Marsaxlokk, en moins d'une heure, le long d'un beau sentier qui surplombe la mer.
Bus 124 depuis Isla (25 minutes)
