“Wide public park where you can enjoy walking and running far away from the city mood. There are some playground as well and a romantic lake. It was the country residence of a ancient roman nobility family, so you can have an idea about their life style.”

“This is a fantastic place where to rest, maybe have a quick snack and relax with Rome's view. A particular aspect of this area is the magnificent view that you will see through a keyhole. Yes, a door keyhole. You may ask to whoever walks by that area. Must see”

“Just take a bus to the center and after a short trip into the heart of the city suddenly you'll be in the middle of a bucolic landscape. You can relax walking through centuries-old trees, large meadows and a small waterway, discovering the traces of ancient Rome and the places where the emperors chose to erect the funeral mausoleums and Christians of the first century found refuge for their loved ones dead (Catacombs). A different and authentic experience of the most ancient Rome.”

“The hill was the seat of one of the villages from which Rome was built, and the memory of this sort of civil nobility was still alive in the Republican era, according to an inscription found at the Sette Sale, at the Baths of Trajan, which mentions the restoration of the sacellum compitale done at the expense of the inhabitants (de pecunia montanorum)]. In the Augustan subdivision of the city, Mons Oppius was included in Regio III, called Isis et Serapis from the great temple that stood on its south-eastern slopes, between today's Via Labicana and Via Merulana. Already home (in the direction of the Vicus Suburanus) of the Portico of Livia, the height was occupied in the Neronian era by the Domus aurea and by the subsequent Terme di Tito and Traiano. In the Christian era, the Titulus Eudoxiae (today's San Pietro in Vincoli) and the Titulus Equitii (now San Martino ai Monti) settled there. Today it belongs to the Monti district, of which it is the green lung, and is between Via Labicana, via degli Annibaldi, via Cavour, via Giovanni Lanza, via Merulana. The surrounding streets were intensely built between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, while the archaeological emergencies (as far as they remained, at least from the plundering) were included in the vast Parco del Colle Oppio, which descends towards the Colosseum valley.”

“A walk in the countryside of Rome, in the midst of large meadows, ancient Roman remains, small streams and flocks of sheep grazing. A great way to take a breath from the hardships of tourism, right? Just take a bus and you're in the middle of nature.”

“Villa Torlonia, the most recent of the villas belonging to Rome’s nobility, still retains a particular fascination due to the originality of its English-style garden (one of the few examples in the city), and to the unexpectedly large number of buildings and garden furniture in the grounds. The attractions of the site are the Casino Nobile (the home of the Villa Museum and the collection of works by the Roman School), the Casino dei Principi (used for exhibitions and the home of the Roman School Archive), and the Museum of the Casina delle Civette.”

“Rome's Non-Catholic Cemetery contains possibly the highest density of famous and important graves anywhere in the world. It is the final resting-place of the poets Shelley and Keats, of many painters, sculptors and authors, a number of scholars, several diplomats, Goethe's only son, and Antonio Gramsci, a founding father of European Communism, to name only a few.The Cemetery population is both exceptionally diverse and exceptionally rich in writers, painters, sculptors, historians, archaeologists, diplomats, scientists, architects and poets, many of international eminence. ”
