“Great place to walk around and sight-see. Walk the water's edge or follow the trails to the forested interior and view some of the remaining artillery batteries on the property. This is a large park, approximately 75 hectares, and a good amount of parking. In the summer, Shakespeare by the Sea is held in the park, which is a live outdoor theater production.”

“Another wicked beach- check the tides because much of the beach disappears at high tide, but when the tides go out there's lots of sand. Big surf spot- yo can take lessons. Nice rollers. There are bathrooms, change rooms, a tea room near by. Supervised beach area, too. ”

“My favourite beach! Washrooms, change rooms, and lifeguards.. Pack a lunch though. The water here is warmer than any other beaches around. When the tide is high there is not much beach, but as it lowers it becomes huge, and is packed in the summer! Great spot. Free parking, park anywhere except for fire zones... they don't actually ticket in the no parking spots! ”

“Originally a country estate built in 1780 for Lieutenant Governor John Wentworth, Hemlock Ravine is now one of the city’s most beloved urban nature parks. Located off of Halifax’s busy Bedford Highway, it’s tucked behind residential neighbourhoods and housing complexes that quickly disappear upon entering the park. The trails are well marked and maintained with regular signage, maps, benches and garbage cans throughout. ”
