This beautiful country retreat is the perfect space to relax with a book, guitar or just soak in the garden bathtub. It's spacious kitchen and veggie patch provide the perfect rest. Easy access with Bus and highway to PortFairy-Hamilton/Dunkeld/Ararat.
It is important to note, the pricing will be negotiated if more than one bed required. Airbnb only allow a pricing/person not per bed eg. a couple using one bed is the standard fee; two people using separate beds an additional charge.
The space is light and ever so comfortable especially for a travel stop over to enjoy a couple of days relaxation with short day trips to the local State and National Parks, and in particular the volcanic wonders of the lava tube caves, 5 minutes away!! There is a wonderful deep cast iron bath nestled in a private corner of the back yard which is perfect for evenings spent soaking and watching the shooting stars.
You will have the whole house, extended garden and adjoining paddock to enjoy. Space to breath and wander and bathe. There is a locked studio on the property that is used as a store.
You will not have access to this building.
There will be someone to meet you if you request, otherwise, assitance is always close at hand but you will need to call first. While we would love to meet you we also understand that you have chosen a retreat and would like to be able to relax and enjoy your own company. If you require any assitance please do not hesitate to call and I or my colleague will be available to pop over and give you a hand.
The queen -size beds are both wool futons, one has an added organic latex topper for added softness. They are firm and do not have innner springs. It is a wonderfully warm and comforting style of mattress however people with tender hips/shoulder pain may find the lack of inner springs not to their liking, especially if they are side sleepers. Please consider this as part of your overall descision and discuss this with me if you have any concerns. I have slept on wool futons all my adult life and love them above all else.
The rules are simple, enjoy yourself in the space with respect for the nurture and support a shared home-away-from-home offers. Leave the space clean and tidy, use what you need with moderation.. smoking only outside in the garden and noise kept to a reasonable level with respect for neighbours across the road.
Easy going, I love meeting and hosting new people.
I grew up on a farm in the rich volcanic plains for the western district of Victoria and move regularly between the city and country. I work in Education and Art and have a creative art practice that sustains my contemplative side.
Good healthy food and culturally eclectic experiences enliven me and when travelling I like a small clean, cosy place to retreat to with fresh air, a space for yoga and a good basic stocked kitchen. I travelled for years in a combi van and loved it. Not surprisingly I have affection for small dwelllings and so my two listings are modest spaces which feel like a similar traveller's cocoon for dreaming up the next stage of the journey. This is what I offer you as fellow travellers. Please relax and enjoy the space.
