This is a totally unique experience! Perfect as a destination venue for weddings, receptions, workshops etc. Set on 250 acres of rolling farmland, only 4 miles from downtown Lexington, this unique location & venue can offer you or your group a park/private estate like setting with amazing vistas. This property can accommodate 29 people in 8 different settings with a variety of arrangements.
The Lodge is across the road from the Maury River alongside the Chessie Trail.
This retreat is a 'self-catering' facility meaning that we rent 'space' & require our guests/renter to take care of themselves, cleanup, turn off lights as they would at home etc.
There is a full catering kitchen in Lodge with everything you or a caterer should need. The guest room guests have use of the 2nd floor Hayloft Room Lounge & the coffee bar with coffee, teas, hot cocoa & a mini refrigerator. Those staying in the deluxe loft dorm also have use of this Lounge area.
Attached to The Lodge is a balcony & a 65 ft grapevine covered pergola with a fish pond, water fountain & sweet waterfall. Adjacent is a meditation garden, another small pergola & a fire pit. The courtyard is large enough for a three pointed tent providing outdoor seating for larger events. In good weather the cement floor of the pergola or Stone Garden can serve as a dance floor. Adjacent to The Lodge are 2 studios. One was a real Creamery & the other a section of what was once the 'calving barn'. In addition: on the other side of this property are 5 authentic, rustic, modernized log cabins dating from 1775 to early 1900's!! An incredible adventure into a 'Slice of Shenandoah history'.
The renter of The Lodge has use of the catering kitchen, large double sided stone fireplace, pergola, fire pit, meditation garden & small pergola including the courtyard if they are renting a tent. All of the lodgings offered here are listed on our other listings on airbnb for many more photos. Guests have use of the grounds at Heartstone Lodge for gathering, entertaining, the Lodge accommodations, the 5 cabins & both studios. A reminder that renting the accommodations & group space does not give 'ownership rights' to the land itself for purposes other than what is agreed upon. Access is to the large hilltop labyrinth, meditation garden, walks on land, fire pit at The Lodge & much more is yours for enjoyment.
We are always available by phone & during the week there is someone in the farm office to answer questions or find assistance. We rent space & are not a full service facility with staff. The contract holder(s) is responsible for having everything in order before the event & cleaned before departure. Since all accommodations would be rented with this contract each rental would carry its own responsibility ie cabins. You may see Russell mowing or tending to the meditation garden though you may or may not see Barney & myself during your stay. We are available to greet & meet you & review the spaces with you. Our farm home & office is adjacent to The Lodge so we are available if needed. We love to meet our renters.
We hope that our guests will enjoy our farm & want to return. Many do! The Lodge facility is for adults & children (loft ONLY) over 10 yrs old. Also, no pets of any kind are suitable for this facility. Thank you for not asking. Smoking is outdoors only & properly disposed of to eliminate the threat of fire.
This is a "self-catering" event center. We ask guests to turn off lights in lobby & outdoors before retiring, put patio cushions away, be sure that the doors to building are closed etc. There is no staff to pick up/cleanup after guests. FIRES are to be only where indicated. With respect to our neighbors, knowing that sound travels extremely well over open land, we require all music & loud partying to move indoors at 10:30 PM. The cabins are of differing size regarding the number of people in each cabin, whether or not children or a dog is acceptable. Please ask which cabins are & are not suitable for your needs. We ask that you honor our requests which would be reviewed in our agreement to rent. Otherwise you & your guests cannot help but have a terrific time!! You will not be disappointed!
I am currently a co-owner/co-operator of a vacation cabin & event facility on 250 acres in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It is amazingly beautiful here. My husband & I moved here after several decades in Sausalito/Sebastopol CA & 6 yrs sailing & living aboard our deep sea sailing vessel. I love water, mountains, the natural environment, travel, good restaurants & fun coffee shops. I am totally intrigued with sacred geometry, design sculptures, facilitate workshops, have had & continue to have a colorful, incredible career & life path. Life is more than good!!
