Clay was nice to interact with and we greatly appreciated (and enjoyed!) his recommendations. His place also has a unique design with awesome high ceilings and exposed brick walls. However, the house was filthy and had clearly not been cleaned in between uses. There were used condoms and tampons in bin next to bed, marks/stains on sheet (no top sheet), clumps on hair on the bathroom floor along with clips and other gunk, the tub had clearly hand not been cleaned in months and had mildew, mold and grime. The rugs had not been vacuumed (dirt, crumbs and dog hair everywhere), dirty dishes left in the sink, and there were thick layers of dust on all surfaces.
Location is right downtown, which makes it easy to get around. Unfortunately, the ceiling above the bed was a shared floor with a club and there was frequent banging, yelling and loud music until about 2am. At this point people at the club would filter into the shared hallway/ stairway and some would go onto the sidewalk outside. This apartment is a perfect noise capture for all of these locations, with screams, honking and engine-revving continuing until past 3:30am and could not be avoided even by sandwiching your head between pillows. This wasn't as bad the first night when we decided to explore the area but after having a long day at the beach on the second day it was a little torturous to not be able to coax yourself to sleep after 4 hours of trying. To make matters worse, we were also woken up at 8am a guy, either in a neighboring apartment or setting up the club, angrily shouting and throwing items at the walls/floor. If this isn't doing it for you- pictures (and videos) are worth a thousand words and I have plenty of both.
Bottom line: uniquely decorated place that's right downtown that would be good for people who are can function on less than 5 hours of sleep (and plan to be out until 3am) but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned.
