Our home is comfy and quiet, on a small pond, 7 miles from UGA. We have a large bedroom listed but have 2 others smaller ones if needed. Hubby is a campus minister and I am an RN. We like meeting people but will respect your privacy. Welcome!
PS. No smokERs--even though you don't smoke in our home, the butts on the porch and street that we have to pick up and the smell in the room after you leave made us change our minds. NO SMOKERS-NO EXCEPTIONS.
The bathroom is down the hall, and the room has a sofa, cable TV, wi-fi, a small table w/ 2 chairs, a microwave, a Keurig, walk in closet with a mirror & dresser for privacy, electric blanket in winter if desired, and an additional small space w/ a mirror in the private hallway for getting ready. 2-3 people could be comfortable here if one does not mind sleeping on the sofa. The bath is private but you have to walk down the hall.
You have one large bedroom, and it has a small private hallway, and a full bath. The kitchen is not part of the listing but your room has a microwave and a Keurig. The rest of the house is not listed, just the upstairs room & bath. If you return as a guest and we like each other, we may be able to offer more options or the entire home when we are gone.
If we are home we are happy to help, or you can call us. My husband grew up here and knows lots of things about the area.
Please park on the opposite side of the street from the house (not in the driveway).
No smoking AND no smokers. The smell lingers in the space even if you did not smoke in the room.
Please honor our 10 am check out time. If you need more time or want to leave your belongings in the room past 10 a.m. you are welcome to book the room for an additional day if it is available. Otherwise we need time to clean and get it ready for the next guest.
We hate to post these additional rules because we figured adults would know these things...
1. NO SMOKERS! Please respect this.
2. Please do not sleep on top of the duvet; we change the sheets for each guest but we don't clean the duvet each time. Sleep between the sheets please.
3. No drinks/cups on wood furniture.
4. Do not flush anything but toilet paper in the toilet.
5. No illegal drugs or activity.
6. No (URL HIDDEN) exceptions...we get repeated requests asking if the no pets policy is (URL HIDDEN) is.
We are a friendly couple but are usually quiet at home. I suppose this is because both of us work with people all day-Joe as a campus minister, and Liz as an RN at a free Christian clinic. We love music and sing in a few choral groups, and we also love to laugh, read, watch TV dramas and documentaries, walk our tiny dog, and most of all spend time with our grandchildren.
