Guests can have complete privacy if they like, to write and relax, or can visit our letterpress studio and Porch Gallery and info about the island is available as requested.
We also have a letterpress studio and The Porch Gallery on our property. The Porch Gallery features Peter's linocuts and letterpress work and Mona's book art editions of Canadian poetry as well as MOTHER TONGUE'S literary and art trade books, art cards (and some used books). It also features George Fertig's amazing paintings and drawings. (See The Life and Art of George Fertig by Mona Fertig, the 3rd book in the acclaimed Unheralded Artists of BC series). You are welcome to visit both studios by appointment. Salt Spring Island, B.C., has many hiking trails, parks, beaches, galleries, restaurants, a famous Saturday market, an art centre, a great public transit system and a cornucopia of lively events. It is a wonderful place to escape to any time of year. We are a proudly unincorporated Gulf island ( part of the federation of Gulf Islands) governed by the Islands Trusts' Preserve & Protect mandate.
We expect our guests to be quiet and to enjoy their stay. Privacy is respected. No pets allowed. Adults only. No smoking on property. We have one dog and two cats.
