We shared the appartment with Cesar and he was very friendly and helpful. He offered laundry service and gave us a lot of information about quepos and the surroundings. We booked a tour for Manuel Antonio National Park with him and felt very comfortable at his place. One important information that was missing however, was that he has a camera in the appartment (not in the room we booked) to see what is going on while he is away. For us this was a reason to leave when we discovered that, if people are aware of this and don't mind, I would recommend his place.
The bathroom we found was never cleaned and had urine all over the toilet. The host never showed up to "check us in" He is not located anywhere near the national park either, he's at the end of another road near the road that leads to the park. The price he asks is matched by other beautiful hotels and airbnb homes that are actually where they are meant to be. Not a good place.
We had one of the best stays with airbnb at Ivans place. He makes a big effort to let you feel like at home and let you watch inside the tico-life. So it comes that we cooked together and he even invited us to go out for some local nightlife. The room was very clean and spacious. All the facilities and and kitchen were very well equiped. Really recommend Ivans place!
First of all, this review is for a different room that is shown on this site. When I contacted Cesar the first time, the room was not available but he was able to reserve a room from a house across the street. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also had access to a nice bathroom, also very clean. I have nothing negative to say. We did not actually meet Cesar (partly my fault because I was very late at the check-in time that we agreed on) but the lady in the house was very helpful, gave us some tips on which places are best to eat and how to get to Manuel Antonio National Park. As a bonus, we saw a spider monkey when we arrived!
