Rachelle was away on vacation. Her friend met us and was very nice. The house and garden are clean and beautiful. It is in the rainforest so it is cold and rainy most of the time. It is 10 miles from the National park. There was no hot water when we were there, but we were a…
Aloha Elisa, Thank you for enjoying the beauty of our home appropriately named, "Rainforest Cottage, Double room" not "sunny, whole house rental". As stated in the description, you did rent a "room" in a cottage. I wanted to apologize for the hot water heater going on the fritz during your stay. We DO have hot water. Try as I did, I could not get the plumber to get up there during Christmas. As you must well know, appliances will break down every once in a while and I am grateful for those who have the common sense to understand this. We try to live as closely to the land as possible but never do we imply, nor is it stated, that we are self sustainable. Thank you again for not making assumptions and reading our description fully. We do have the internet set up to plug into the solar when not using the generator but unfortunately, Michelle forgot to show you. I am sure you understand this as you are human and have forgotten things yourself. The reason we have such an amazingly beautiful property is due to the constant rain and SUN. Your very short stay may not have afforded you all the sun we enjoy. Visiting a rain forest in winter should help you to understand the circumstances of weather. However, our natural landscape would not be so incredible if we did not see much sun and rain. I do hope, as nature lovers, you would enjoy all aspects of weather. Rain is Hawaii is warm and wonderful to play in.
