This small, sweet home is nestled in the quiet, historic neighborhood just south of ASU. A 5 min walk brings you to the University. Also walking distance to public transportation, bike rentals, great restaurants and more!
You can rent bikes just 2 blocks away with a new bike share program that allows you to rent bikes from your smart phone and comes with a high tech locking system! There is also a free shuttle bus that picks up just 3 houses down!
I love this space and know you will too! I live a somewhat minimalist lifestyle and have what I need, and not much more. I think that keeping a space clear of clutter creates a calm, peaceful place to relax. I had done airbnb in a previous house I lived in, and absolutely love it. So many friendly faces.
This home is a peaceful refuge to me and I hope it is to you as well. A place to come in after a day of exploring, conferences or working and feel that you can recharge. This sweet home in the historic Tempe neighborhood is a great place to start and end your day. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood JUST TWO BLOCKS FROM ASU and a few houses down from Daley park- a great park in the center of the neighborhood with lots of activity. There are bike rentals just a 5 minute walk away. A short walk though campus takes you directly to the light rail, which can take you around the city if you don't feel like driving or don't have a vehicle.
This home is great for anyone attending conferences, spring training, visiting a student or checking out ASU.
Composting, recycling, reducing and reusing are important to me. I am not obsessively clean, but do like things neat and do clean up after myself. I would expect the same from any guest. I sweep and mop the cement floors once a week- if you desire a spotless house, this is not the place. I believe in experiencing life, not mopping daily. :) I may enjoy a beer or a glass of wine but like to keep my house a haven, and appreciate respectfulness and moderation. I do use the AC in the summer, but do not keep it super cold. If you plan to be around during the daytime, please know that the temp in the house will be a little warm (utilities are crazy high in an AZ summer!) No cigarette smoking inside or out. Pets are typically not allowed as Booges is not a fan of other dogs (he does love people!), but let me know your situation if you believe it could work.
Booges, the dog of the house, is a 12 year old Australian cattle dog mix. He is very well behaved and super friendly. He will bark when someone knocks but will be the biggest lover the minute you walk in the door. Everyone falls in love with this handsome boy.
If this sounds like somewhere you'd like to stay then please send me a message with a little about you and what brings you to Tempe.
If you need a ride to or from the airport, and it works with my schedule, I would be happy to pick you up for a small fee.

Interaction with guests can be as much or as little as the guests would like. Though I am a busy lady, when I am around I would love to join you in conversation about shared interests or places to see and things to do in Tempe. I grew up here and went to ASU (though a while back) and so know the area well, though it seems to be constantly changing!
This is a small, older home. Sound proof is something it is not. If you are traveling with a significant other and plan to spend a lot of time in bed, please consider this. (In other words, I would rather not hear you having sex) :)
DO make yourself at home
DO clean up after yourself
DO NOT smoke cigarettes inside or out
DO be respectful
DO enjoy your stay!
Also: I do have sensitivities to heavy perfumes. Please be considerate of this when getting ready.
And: The house is small and not sound proof. If you are a couple wanting a private getaway, you will want to book another place. :)
If you have a car, please park on the street directly in front of my house, not in front of the neighbors houses. Thanks!
Anna- I am an explorer at heart. Travel is important to me. Whether local or international, hiking or sitting in an airport, I love to take in all the world has to offer. Children and families are important to me and I offer loving support to many along my path. I am passionate about health and wellness, and am always pursuing ways of feeling my best. That said, I use natural products around my house- no chemicals- for cleaning and health. My diet varies, but I try to eat clean. I love connections with others and hearing about others' experiences and lives. I enjoy a peaceful and caring home with loving energy at the heart of it.
