Enjoy a cozy and creative space within walking distance of downtown Athens and UGA campus. The charming room has its own entrance and a private bathroom. An excellent value for anyone looking for a relaxing "home away from home"
The comfortable room has warm golden walls adorned with eclectic objects. It is relatively secluded from the rest of the house with a private entrance. It has its own bathroom with shower, a queen-sized bed, a desk, and good wifi. There is AC and a ceiling fan in summer and in winter a space heater for additional warmth.
Additional amenities to make this a well-rounded accommodation include a hairdryer, an iron / ironing board / hangers, a small refrigerator, a microwave oven, a pitcher of filtered water, dishes, utensils, and a small cutting board (if wishing to cook, the kitchen is right next door). There are also a few books on hand for your enjoyment.
I have put a lot of creativity into the historic house and art garden and enjoy sharing this place with others. I provide useful information about Athens and will happily answer any questions. I look forward to hosting you!
The room functions as a private space but guests can have access to the kitchen and the rest of the house and garden.
I enjoy being a host and appreciate interaction with others, but understand and respect a desire for privacy.
I have useful advice to share about Athens, having lived here for much of my life. Along with this local perspective, I am a traveler of many countries who enjoys interacting with a wide range of people.
Quite a few people have cat allergy concerns. There are two cats but they are rarely in the part of the house where the guestroom is, and the door is kept locked to prevent animals from entering. Unless cat sensitivity is severe, I suspect it won't be a problem in the room.
If you have a pet, I have a large yard, and less than five minutes away on foot is a dog friendly park. Give me a heads up if you plan to bring your pet.
Respect the house as a good guest does. Smoking is fine outside. Please be mindful of noise (loud voices and music) after 11 pm
As a passionate traveler with a curious and adventurous spirit, I have explored many cultures around the world (over fifty countries and almost as many US states). All the while, I remain firmly rooted in my hometown of Athens, Georgia. I am knowledgeable of this place, its local culture, and special things it may have to offer you.
I enjoy connecting with people of all varieties, whether it be you in my home or villagers and urbanites in faraway lands.
I have benefited from many examples of gracious hospitality which have made me into an even more considerate guest and host. I do my best to pass on the comfort and generosity I have received on my travels to those I welcome into my home (at an affordable price, which is important to me as a budget traveler).
Whether you want privacy or interaction, I am happy to provide a welcoming home away from home.
