Fabulously located in the beautiful town of Lewes in South Downs National Park, 500 metres up the hill and you're on the Downs, 100 metres the other way and you're in town! Available for long weekends and negotiable for longer stays.
The house is warm and cosy and is an easy space to live in. There is a small sunny paved area at the front of the house to sit out when the weather is good. The front door leads straight into the open plan sitting room with wood burning stove which connects to a modern fitted kitchen with plenty of crockery, cutlery and all that you'll need for your stay. The dining area is in a lovely bright extension at the back .
Up to the first floor for the bathroom/loo and my office/spare room with a single futon, suitable for one person and available for use on request. The main bedroom is up a narrow staircase and into the lovely sunny attic room, with great views over Lewes, to the Castle and the hills beyond.
Guests can access all the areas in the house, although there may be some locked cupboard spaces.
I'll be staying nearby and you're welcome to call me. I am really happy to give you recommendations for great pubs (there are loads in the town) and other great places to eat. There is an excellent Tourist Information Centre in the town to pick up all the information you need.
There is no parking outside the house or in the street. There are several car parks very close by all of which are payable. Lewes can be difficult for parking as it is a medieval town with very little available street parking.
The house is in a quiet residential street so please respect my neighbours and not have music too loud, too late etc etc. Please don't park in the bit of space next to my house, it isn't mine!
No smoking in the house please.
I have been living in Lewes for around 15 years. I am a football fan, following Lewes FC and Brighton & Hove Albion. I also like the visual Arts, live music and regularly walking on the Downs. The quick and easy access to the South Downs, Brighton and London makes this a really great place to be. I am a semi-retired graphic designer and artist and a member of South Street Bonfire Society!
