We wanted to celebrate the richness of East London's life and have named this suite after Babs Windsor, she has brought so much joy to us. She is a warm and talented actress, a true East Ender and now made a Dame by The Queen
We live in London's East End, which has always been very cosmopolitan and caters to most tastes - the whole area got a huge boost from last year's Olympics and the energy continues to be very positive and trendy too. Our house is a traditional modern town house and each of the guest bedrooms has it's own ensuite bathroom, wifi, TV and we offer a simple continental breakfast each day in the conservatory, but if you want a cooked breakfast we can provide that as an extra. We are happy to share our knowledge of the area with you and can show you local street markets and charity shops, if you are looking for a bargain, or a good local pub - one of the local pubs has been going strong for some 500 + years, where Dickens used to have the odd pint and is now owned by Sir Ian McKellen. Another nearby (The George Tavern) began as a watering hole in 1623 and Grace Jones is a regular customer, plus a celebrity backer for their restoration campaign.
Our home is a no-smoking zone.
Stepney House is in Stepney Green which has excellent transport links to museums, galleries, theatres & a wide variety of entertainment, shopping (nearby Westfield is the largest mall in Europe), bars, clubs and restaurants - the buses operate 24/7 and the tube (which is 150 years old this year) is within a few minutes walk, plus there is the bike rental scheme available at the local docking station.
We will aim to help you have the best time in London and try to go the extra mile - e.g. we make our own chunky granola for your breakfast - our favourite at the moment is wheatgerm-studded walnut-and-dried-cherry - hope to see you soon.
We want you to have a good time and ask you to show respect to others living in the property, just as you would expect.
It is a non-smoking property.
We do allow our guests to cook their own meal at night and ask that all dishes used are cleaned and returned to the cupboards.
If you want to invite any additional guests, this must be agreed in advance and we are fairly flexible.
I enjoy socialising, music and travel. I grew up in South America in a large family - one of 11 children and have lived in London for 20 years. My favourite country to visit on holiday is Italy - particularly the islands of Sicily & Lampedusa.
It is important to respect others and to treat them as I hope to be treated - love it when hosts or guests share their own travel experiences and bring you into their own world.
I love nature and all things natural, particularly the sea and wild life.
