We had a wonderful stay at Nathalie's beautiful home. It is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood in the hills of south Berkeley, with great views across the bay ( though not of San Francisco) from the living room and master bedroom. The house is much bigger than it looks from the outside because it descends a hill and only one of its two stories is seen from the street. Once you get inside, the bedrooms are on the street level floor and the living and dining rooms and kitchen are on the floor below. The rooms are large, beautifully furnished and very clean. The master bedroom has a separate dressing room and renovated bathroom. The kitchen is also renovated and filled with every possible cooking appliance a foodie could desire. There are large windows and great light in house. The house is actually more beautiful inside than the pictures reflect. Everything worked well and we had no issues of any kind. Nathalie made us feel very welcome, providing detailed descriptions of where everything was and how things worked, as well as leaving us box of See's candy (beyond delish) and a bottle of red wine. Our party was me, my husband, one teenager, one adult son and his girlfriend. There was plenty of room and privacy for all of us and everyone of us was delighted by the house. It's about a fifteen minute walk down to the BART station and College Ave, which has many wonderful restaurants, markets, and shops. We couldn't have been happier with the house--we would definitely return on our next trip to Berkeley if given the opportunity!
