Three Mary Cays is the only house on a two mile white sand beach offering total privacy and seclusion. Though an informal beach house, it has every comfort you could need. Each bedroom and the living room are separate buildings linked by a raised boardwalk. There is a 40 foot wide open plan living room, dining and kitchen area adjoining a 40 foot wide screened porch that faces the sea. The tree king-sized ensuite bedrooms are air conditioned but also have ceiling fans and a screened porches. The living room opens onto a large deck with a fresh water pool and changing room / shower. The queen-sized pull down bed in the living room has its own private toilet and shower room. The buildings were all designed to be self cooling with curved roofs and jalousies front and back that open to allow the sea breeze to waft through. The kitchens and bathrooms were designed to the highest specifications. The furniture is all the iconic Richard Shultz 1966 range and the mattresses and linens were all source from the Four Seasons Hotel, Miami.
Three Mary Cays is about 4,000 square feet and was designed in 2004 by award winning architect Seth Stein, London. It is the only Seth Stein house in the TCI and one of the few available to rent world wide.
North Caicos is part of the Turks & Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory. It is sixty miles South of the Bahamas, sixty miles North of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) and 100 miles East of Cuba. The island is 41 square miles and has a population of around 1,500. North Caicos is 12 miles North East of Providenciales (Provo) which has the main commercial areas for the Turks & Caicos as well as an international airport which acts as a hub for the other islands. There is an airport on North Caicos (8 miles from the house)
which can handle small jets and there are also local flights from North Caicos airport to Provo. There is a good ferry service between North Caicos and Provo with five sailings on weekdays and three on weekends, taking about 30 minutes. An SUV / Jeep rental car is recommended and there are also bicycle rentals available as well as taxis and guided tours.
Guests will have the use of all of Three Mary Cays, which comprises three bedroom buildings and a central living room / dining / kitchen pavilion.
Regine Forbes is the manager of Three Mary Cays and lives on North Caicos. She will arrange to stock the fridge and freezer before your arrival and will provide one restocking per incremental week that you stay at the house. You will have to pay for the goods purchased, but Regine will arrange for transport and delivery. There is a relatively limited choice of retail food shopping on North Caicos, but a very wide choice available on the main island, Provo. Regine will be happy to provide extra shopping by separate arrangement.
There is a full time caretaker at Three Mary Cays, who works 7am to 5pm on weekdays and 7am to 11am on weekends. Joseph looks after all the day to day running of the property but doesn't do guests washing up or laundry. Maid service can be arranged through Regine if desired.
North Caicos is adjacent to Parrot Cay, a five star resort with a good restaurant and a wonderful Shambala Spa. Apart from peak holiday periods Parrot Cay is usually happy to accept day guests, and Regine can help to arrange this. It is only a five minute boat ride from Sandy Point Marina over to Parrot Cay. Regine can also arrange for guests to go snorkelling, deep sea fishing, bay fishing or scuba diving.
Three Mary Cays has a large collection of DVDs and and a library (almost all in English) which guests are most welcome to use.
We do not accept young children because Three Mary Cays is quite remote. There is no life guard on the beach and you really do have to look after yourself. There is emergency cover from a Nurse on North and a fully equipped hospital on Provo, but remember, that's 12 miles and a ferry ride away. We also ask guests not to smoke in the buildings.
