I stayed here for 3 months and it was FANTASTIC. The house looks exactly like it does in the pictures, and it is in a perfect location. I could easily walk to restaurants on Greenville and it was only a 5 minute car ride away from lower greenville. Peter always responded to my emails within 12 hours at most. The neighborhood was quiet at night and I never felt unsafe coming home during the later hours. I would recommend this place to anyone!
I stayed at Peter's apartment while in Dallas for work. I initially booked the place for 2 months and ended up booking an additional month because I loved the place so much. This was my first time visiting Dallas so I didn't know much about the area but after staying there and talking to other people in Dallas, I realized this is a great and safe location. There is not a washer and dryer in the unit but this was not a problem for me even staying for three months. There is a "wash and dry" service about a mile from the apartment that I used several times a week. There is one designated parking place for the unit next to the entrance which is nice because many houses in the area require you to park on the street. I would absolutely stay with Peter and Adrienne if I were to come back to Dallas.
I stayed in this apartment for 28 days. I didn't have a car, during this stay, which I let Peter know before hand. In the amenities, this home showed that it had a washer and dryer. That's not factual at all! They do not have 1! When I asked about this situation, they let me know, that I could use their washer and dryer on a Saturday between 11-12pm. I declined this offered, as I had a precious engagement. I then reached out to them 4 more times. Each time I was told that they couldn't let me use their washer and dryer, as they were out of town, had family over, it was the holidays and it was a busy season for them! They kept saying that I should be able to use, "the many laundromats that are around the neighborhood". I don't have a car, thus it wasn't easy for me to find one! The only planes around the 2 miles radius, are dry cleaners, which I had to use, thus I had to spend 120$ for this service...however, I was still not able to find anywhere to wash my other clothes I had with me. The only places that offered this washing service, was a company that only takes clothes if its 20lbs of dirty clothes. This created a huge inconvenience for me. It's not fair, to state amenities in your ad, if you don't have them! Another issue that arose was that I had asked the owners, if I could use the address to receive mail. They responded by stating, "you may not, as we sometimes are never home, and we don't want you to lose any packages". I was only expecting Christmas cards and an occasional Letter from my mother for Christmas. Once again, their response to this was, "they rent out boxes at ups, which you can use". I had to rent out a box from ups for 60$. Their response to everything was, use the services around the neighborhood. They once again failed to see, that this added more cost to me and also, failed to see, that would not be such an easy task, as I had no car. The internet in this home is extremely glitchy. It cuts off a lot and it is very slow to connect to the internet. I did let Peter know of this and he did respond, and had said that he had added another router, which should fix this problem. It fixed the connection on the tv, that I used to watch Netflix, yet, it still was extremely glitchy for a laptop connection. The home is in a great location. That's the only positive thing I need to say about this experience.
We regret that Felix's experience was less than perfect. We had made every attempt to accommodate the many requests from this guest - and have several hundred communications in his 28-day stay - via the Airbnb platform, text messages, in-person visits. Keeping up with such volume was challenging, and for the most part we responded within an hour or so. To address the specific comments from Felix's review: * In trying to meet his needs and requests, we offered for him to use our washer and dryer in our main home. The access was communicated prior to booking and Felix understood and accepted the arrangements. On several occasions he declined the use of washer & dryer because it didn't suit his schedule, and said he would just use a nearby laundry mat. He later kept making demands for use of laundry facilities at times when we were unavailable. This was during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. We explained that we had several commitments with friends and family as well as visitors, so timing coordination was required. * For his own convenience and as agreed prior to booking with us, we suggested using PO Box service within a 5 minute walk of our property so that he would receive any mail in a timely and secure manner. At first, he thought this to be a great idea though later he expressed it as a point of frustration that his needs were not accommodated. * The secondary internet router was added after the first indication that Felix had connectivity issues. Subsequent inquiries with him indicated that all concerns were resolved. Throughout the years, we have stayed or hosted and interacted with many members of the Airbnb community. We love hosting guests in our private apartment and sharing our city and neighborhood with them. We do our best to be attentive hosts and create a positive environment for our guests.
This is a perfect place to stay! You would be close to everything and a quick drive to the freeway if you need to travel to other places within the city. The one bedroom apartment was incredibly quiet and comfortable and have everything that we needed. The private parking is incredibly convenient especially since the area has limited on street parking. We loved the area we walked to many local restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries.
I stayed here for 3 months while relocating to Texas and the place and hosts were perfect. The place is new, filled with light, and has all the bells and whistles- large tv with cable, great air conditioning, comfortable bed, walkin closet, great bathroom. The place is also a 2 to 5 minute walk from numerous, great eating and drinking places. SMU, Katy Trail, and all the highways also easily acceptable. I'd stay hear again and will certainly recommend it to my out of town family and friends when in for a visit. The hosts were wonderful - very responsive and communicative with arrival details (parking spot, entry code, wifi password, maid schedule, etc) and always happy to share a restaurant tip and local activities (white rock lake for outdoor activities).
The place is close to uptown (where I worked) and located on Greenville (a super fun street with food and drinks). It has most amenities except a washer and dryer so if you are staying long term you need to use a laundry mat. The bed is extremely comfortable and the closet is huge. Parking is hard because you have to park right in the white lines. The place is brand new so it is very clean and first class. The neighborhood is the best part. You're in walking distance to many restaurants. Adrienne is fabulous and super sweet. She cooked dinner for me even when she was very busy and it was delicious! There is a pullout couch and a nice kitchen. The bathroom is very clean and beautiful. The TV signal can be glitchy sometimes along with the wifi. There was an issue with someone running their car into the garage ruining some of the drywall. I am confident that the act was not done by me, but maybe my neighbor. However I still had to pay for the damage, which was frustrating because there wasn't any proof even though they had cameras outside. Getting in and out is super easy because there is no key, it is just a code. There is not a lock on the entrance to the space which made me feel kind of uncomfortable, but nothing weird happened during my stay. There is a lock on the bedroom door and the main entrance locks. Overall I enjoyed my stay and think they neighborhood is fabulous.
To clarify: the parking spot is allocated specifically for the apartment guests away from the 2-car garage with plenty of space to maneuver. The parking area is marked with white lines as in a parking lot. The entrance door to the apartment is located conveniently at the end of the parking spot. Please refer to the listing pictures which show the parking area and the apartment entry door.
I so enjoyed staying at this home located in the affluent M streets. Peter and his wife were extremely welcoming and communicative with ensuring I had arrived safely and had all of my needs met. The home is as presented with all amenities that you could think of. The location was perfect! I was able to walk to the neighborhood shops, restaurants, and bars while on vacation. I would definitely consider staying again when I return to Dallas. In addition, I would highly recommend Peter's Peace Pad Retreat.
