Bright & cozy space with a private balcony in a great Marigny location between the French Quarter & Bywater! Terrific food, drinks, music & art are just a short walk away in all directions.

Welcome to The Bee House!

Stay in New Orleans in our sunny second-floor hideaway! Darling and completely private with its own entrance and a comfy living room, new queen-sized Serta Perfect Sleeper, central air & heat, flatscreen tv, HD local programming, DVD & streaming, high-speed wifi, and most importantly a private balcony - perfect for breezy morning coffee, an afternoon curled up with a good book, or evening cocktails before you head out for New Orleans' nightlife. The Hideaway has a mini-kitchen: coffee machine, microwave, cooktop and fridge, plus the kitchen equipment you need to throw together a little something. The space is perfect for two, but we can make arrangements for a third, just ask. We live downstairs; join us in the backyard or on the porch for coffee (or cocktails) and conversation.

The Marigny-Bywater area is a quaint & lively neighborhood of historic homes directly East of the French Quarter. The apartment is ideally situated midway between the French Quarter and the bohemian Bywater. If it's food you're after there are plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby. Tapas, BBQ, raw bar, Korean, Southern staples, NYC-style pizza, Indian, classic creole, Italian, po'boys, it's all here! If it's art that you crave, we have The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and several impressive new art galleries. Care for a cocktail? The Marigny can easily assist you in that endeavor with options ranging from hipster to classic to divey - all within walking distance. Several live music venues await you on nearby Frenchman St. There's also the serene New Orleans Healing Center just three blocks away; complete with food co-op, yoga, a gym with day rates, a bookstore and music, theater and comedy at Cafe Istanbul. Please check our guidebook for details on all our wonderful neighborhood has to offer.

Getting around is easy; enjoy a leisurely 15 Minute walk to the French Quarter, or catch one of two public bus lines to points West. The new N. Rampart/St Claude streetcar line is a few blocks away; hook up to the Canal Street and St. Charles Streetcars with ease and explore Uptown. New Orleans is also delightfully flat and easily traveled by bike, and there are several rental companies nearby; some even deliver and pick-up!

Easy street parking available. Check-in and check-out times aren't written in stone. We'll do our best to work with your travel plans as best we can as long as you give us advance notice.

We will not be taking Mardi Gras 2018 bookings until October 2017. Mardi Gras proper, Jazz Fest, and French Quarter Fest generally carry a 5 night minimum; "1st" weekend of Mardi Gras, Essence, Southern Decadence, Voodoo Fest, Christmas, New Years, four night minimum; otherwise three night minimum. Please note that special events may be priced higher, as are weekends.

We love our pets like crazy, but don't worry: they haven't spent time in the hideaway out of respect for visitors possible allergies, and we don't allow animals of any kind for the same reason. If you're an animal lover, though, we know a certain dog who'd love to meet you :)

Please keep in mind that this is a residential neighborhood, not some sterilized hotel environment. It's regular people going about their daily lives. New Orleans is indeed quaint but it is still a city so typical urban noises are carried on the breezes. Cars drive by, people walk on the streets, houses get worked on, hedges get trimmed, there's a freight train whistle that blows in the distance (we find it charming), and the garbage gets picked up early in the morning twice a week. It's pretty darn quiet for a city, but if country-style silence is what you're after, you will not find it here. Like many historic area homes, ours is a constant work in progress: she's in a semi-permanent state of getting a face lift! 2017 is the Year of Paint & Siding, just so you know!

Notes for winter: New Orleans is a city of old drafty wooden homes in a predominately near-tropical climate and ours is no exception. The Winters are brief, but can get quite chilly and very damp so pack accordingly: check online for the forecast before you leave and be sure to bring layers, long sleeves, sweaters and slippers. If you need an indoor environment of 70F in December or prefer to lounge around in shorts and a tank shirt for New Year's then this is not a good fit.

Please note that while we accept bookings from first-time airBNB users with no reviews, we do expect you to have fulfilled the basic verification requirements set by airBNB. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. In addition to being available by phone, email and text, we have What's App? installed on our cell phones to accommodate our international guests. We look forward to hosting you!

We're here to welcome you, check you in and show you around; after that it's up to you! We're often found on the porch or in the back garden puttering around, so come say hi! We're easily reached by text and phone.

We ask that you confirm your arrival and departure times *immediately* upon booking your stay, not minutes before you arrive and/or minutes before the very clearly posted check out of 11AM. The less advanced notice you give, the less chance we can accommodate check ins/out beyond the set parameters.

There are four security cameras aimed at the entry gate and sidewalk.

Have a great time while in New Orleans, while understanding the fact that you are coming back to a residential neighborhood. This is a non-smoking home (NO SMOKING ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY INCLUDING THE BALCONY) and we purposely provide a quieter environment than the often rowdy French Quarter. This ain't Bourbon Street, so don't act like it. We kindly ask that guests conduct themselves in a manner that they themselves would ask of guests in their home knowing that we're right downstairs. No animals (NONE - NO EXCEPTIONS), no fighting, no drunken puking out the window. Don't dye your hair in the tub or sink; Don't leave the windows and doors open when we're running the heat or AC, just ask us to adjust the temperature - we'd be happy to! No extra visitors at any time - only the registered airBNB guests are allowed on the property. Obey local and federal laws. Not to much to ask.

On arrival, read the "Important Things To Know" book on the desk. It'll remind you of the house rules, house quirks, check-out procedure as well as point you toward bike rental, groceries, safety tips, restaurants & bars and parking rules in New Orleans.

My husband and I had never stayed at an AirBnB before, but we found the process to be seamless thanks to Bekah and Brian. The decor was adorably eclectic. The house is old and has those old home quirks to go with it! If you can appreciate that, you will love this place! I highly recommend staying with Bekah and Brian on your next (or first, like ours!) trip to NOLA! **on a side note- do not pass up the one minute walk across the street to Freezy Street- a delicious and unique way of rolling ice cream and sno-balls galore. This Wisco girl was in heaven!

The apartment was cozy and artfully decorated, just like the photos! Bekah and Brian were great host, checking on us when NOLA experienced a flash flood! The location was a nice walk from Frenchmen street, far enough from the noise yet convenient enough to get to! Will definitely stay here again when we return to NOLA :)

Travelled as a couple- location was AMAZING. Super close to Frenchmen street which is where you want to be as a couple. The hosts were extremely accommodating to us and the place was really beautiful. I would come back again and stay at the same place!

We had an amazing time on our trip to New Orleans, and I would attribute a lot of that to this apartment. It's in a wonderful, safe location, and a 20 minute walk from the French quarter. Bekah and Brian were wonderful hosts, and were very responsive to our messages. They even went out of their way to give us personal recommendations for food and activities! We would definitely recommend and stay with them again!

We really felt like home during my stay at Bekah and Brian's apartment. It's a very spacious flat with everything you need. The bed is also super comfortable!!! Bekah was really easy to communicate with, and there are tons of info both on the airbnb page and a catalogue kept in the apartment - lots of good tips there.

Bekah and Brian's apartment and neighborhood were both really beautiful. This was the perfect spot from which to explore the city, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

An incredible location that was perfect for our little getaway trip! We aren't really "bourbon street go-ers" and were a little nervous about being so close to french quarter but it was incredible location!!! Their house is tucked in a quaint and quiet little neighborhood that we fell in love with. Close enough to the action to walk, but far enough away that you're not up at night hearing crowds. Perfect and would definitely come back!
