Shelly picked us up at the airport, showed us around town and dropped us off at the condo. She is kind, friendly and thoughtful. She provided a 20ltr bottled water in a dispenser, some fruits and other basic necessities to start us off. Knowing that we were traveling with our baby, she was kind enough to share her son's toys, some board-books, a feeding table and swimming vest for us to use. Shelly is also responsive. She got back to us right away when we had a minor issue with the keys.
Shelly's Place nestled in a lush gated community located midway between the airport and the city center is very convenient, ideal if you want to explore PV, Nuevo Vallarta and neighboring cities. Frequent local bus access right outside the complex provides a cheap, safe way of getting around. Adjacent to a well stocked supermarket and mini-mall that is open till 11 - finding groceries, local prepared food or pizza is a sinch.
While the community seemed to be about 20 years old it is well maintained and clean. There is a shallow pool for kids and a larger one - both had warm water & were very clean.
Located towards the rear of the complex, the unit is spacious, cozy and tastefully renovated - true to the pictures posted. It comfortably fit 4 adults and a 1 yr old. There is a washer and dryer in the unit that work well (not mentioned in the post) so confirm and travel light. The cooking range & fridge was brand new when we visited. While the view of the Sierra Madre (and the mall) is obscured by trees, you can enjoy hearing & watching birds and iguana in trees from the balcony.
This is not a beach front location - the closest beach (not the best) is accessible via a public access path about 10 mins walk from the gate. If you are staying here consider a day trip to the beaches near Punta Mita/Sayulit or Los Muertos/Conchas China.
